About Us
This is how our story began.
My husband and myself are at the heart of it all. Two people with diverse backgrounds. So different , yet with a common wish to always make something new and united by a common passion for places, people and fine dining: three things that only here in Apulia we have found at their maximum expression.
It all started in the summer of 2018.
2018: what a rough year! A career shift, the great desire to combine working life with family life, the usual thoughts on kids to raise, and many, many more dreams….
I, a woman from the North of Italy, with my feet firmly on the ground, very rational and zero risk appetite. And then my husband, the polar opposite to me: a man from the South, a big dreamer, passionate, always ready to overcome obstacles.
It’s my husband that – behind my back, invited me to visit Lamia del Riccio (which was just a construction site at that time). He was also the one that suggested to make it into something of our own. It was not clear to me why he was suggesting such a thing… until I entered that gate for the first time.
As Joyce would say, it was a true “epiphany”, a sudden and unforeseen comprehension of a great truth. I – the eternally uncertain and always scared by the unknown, I just remember looking up at my husband and thinking that, what could apparently seem a simple business opportunity, could – in fact, turn into a real life plan.
It’s been a tough few months. We have been working hard to get this far and we have been so lucky to meet lots of special people who helped us with such a great generosity.
There have been flashes of enthusiasm and moments of discouragement. But what has always been predominant, is the great sense of new-found freedom that we felt when entering Lamia del Riccio for the first time.
